NYSC Barred Eight Foreign Trained Graduates From Serving Eight foreign-trained graduates have been denied registration over their inabilities to defend their degrees, the National Youth Service Corps Coordinator in Kano State, Ladan Baba, revealed on Monday. He made the disclosure during the passing out parade of the 2019 Batch ‘B’ Corps members from the three-week orientation course, held in the state. He said that some of the graduates were also blocked online from registering for the exercise because of the failure to defend their degrees as foreign students. We’re committed to strengthening ties with Nigeria —South African High Commissioner The South African Acting High Commissioner to Nigeria, Ambassador Bobby Moroe, has said that his country remained committed to strengthening bilateral ties with Nigeria. Moroe told journalist on Sunday in Abuja that the relationship between Nigeria and South Africa would remain strong and on course. The envoy said President Muhammadu Buhari and his South African counterpart, Cyril Ramaphosa, were expected to meet in October to discuss modalities to address attacks on Nigerians living in that country. It said the fake news was orchestrated by “desperate opposition” to cause panic and chaos among the populace. 49-year-old stepfather rapes stepdaughter in Edo... Police Command in Edo has arrested a 49-year-old man simply identified as Mr Raphael, for repeatedly raping his 15-year-old stepdaughter with the approval of the victim’s mother who is his lover. Activist Harrison Gwamnishu who shared the story on his Facebook page, said the victim stated that she was molested by her stepfather and physically assaulted by him and her mum whenever she refused to have sex. According to the victim, her mum and her stepfather agreed that the man would continually have sex with her in the bid to widen her vagina in preparation to send her abroad for prostitution and child pornography. When interrogated, the victim said her stepfather had sex with her about three times now and had perfected plans with her mum to take her down to Lagos for them to feature in a pornographic film after which she would be flown to Italy to engage in prostitution. Bobrisky is embarrassing Nigeria – Runsewe   The Director-General of the National Council for Arts and Culture, Olusegun Runsewe, on Friday  described   controversial cross-dresser, Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, as “an embarrassment to this country”. Two weeks ago, Runsewe condemned Bobrisky, saying if nothing was done to stop the celebrity immediately, it might be too late. But Bobrisky took his Instagram account five days later to dare Runsewe. The cross-dresser said, “I heard someone in government talk about me a few days ago. Please, tell him I’m waiting for him. It’s then he will know that I roll with his bosses in government, not someone at his level. Tenant’s decomposing body found in Lagos apartment The recent discovery of the decomposing body of a tenant, Ijeoma Eminista, in her one-room apartment at No. 21 Onitolo Street, Surulere, Lagos State, threw other residents of the house into confusion. It was learnt that the deceased’s corpse was discovered when other tenants became worried as to her whereabouts having not seen her for two days. The neighbours said Eminista usually went out early in the morning and returned late at night, so it was not unusual that she was not seen initially. Our correspondent learnt that the deceased’s window was left open all the while, which made neighbours to assume that she was around and out of curiosity, they peeped through the window and saw her lying on her bed. Xenophobic attack: Buhari’s special envoy arrives South Africa The special envoy President Muhmmadu Buhari sent to South Africa following the xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in that country has arrived Johannesburg, South Africa. The special envoy who is also the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ahmed Abubakar, was said to have arrived the OR Tambo Airport on Thursday evening. He was said to have been received by top officials of Nigeria’s High Commission led by the High Commissioner. He is scheduled to meet with President Cyril Ramophosa in Pretoria on Friday and deliver Buhari’s message. Abubakar is expected to express Nigeria’s displeasure at the treatment meted out to Nigerians to the host President during the meeting. On his arrival back to the country after the meeting, he will brief Buhari of the outcome following which the High Commissioner will return to Nigeria “for consultation.”
