ECOWAS Parliament swears-in six new Members

Six new Parliamentarians across Liberia and the Republic of Guinea has been sworn into the ECOWAS Parliament seating for its Second ordinary Session, held virtually.

 

The newly sworn-in Members of Parliament are Hon. Jonathan Lambort Kaipay (Liberia), Hon. Souleymane Keita (Guinea), Hon. Ramatoulaye Labbo Diallo (Guinea), Hon. Bandian Neiba Conde (Guinea), Hon. Aboubacar Soumah (Guinea) and Hon Boubacar Diallo (Guinea) respectively.

 

Welcoming the newly sworn-in MPs into the Parliament, Hon. Sidie Tunis, Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament, urged the newly sworn in to emulate the track records of the outgone members of whom they are replacing and also challenged them to defend and represent the Community Parliament whom they’ve been called to serve.

The vice President of Liberia has challenged the ECOWAS Parliament to push for appropriate implementation of the community protocol on gender and human equality across regional and local governments. Abuja Bank Robbery: Police Arrest Alleged Mastermind source: Channels The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has arrested the mastermind of the foiled robbery of a first-generation ba nk in the Mpape area of Abuja last Saturday. The suspect, a barman identified as Ernest was nabbed at his hideout by police detectives and is presently being held at the command headquarters by old CBN building, Garki, Abuja. The police had earlier arrested four suspects and gunned down the fourth member of the robbery gang identified as Patrick during the operation. E-learning can’t work in Nigeria, says ASUU

Professor Biodun Ogunyemi The Academic Staff Union of Universities has expressed reservation on the online learning occasioned by the closure of schools over the coronavirus pandemic, saying, it cannot work in the Universities.
