APC Member Seeks Third Term For President Buhari Charles Enya, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi state, has filed a suit, seeking the amendment of the constitution to allow President Muhammadu Buhari to get another term in office. According to Daily Trust, Enya, who served as organizing secretary to Buhari during the 2019 general election, filed the suit (FHC/AI/CS/90/19) before a federal high court in Abakiliki, the state capital. Enya described the two-term tenure limit for presidents and governors as “discriminatory”. He asked Abubakar Malami, attorney-general of the federation and minister of justice, as well as the national assembly, to remove constitutional clauses hindering elected presidents and governors from seeking a third term in office. Benin Republic set to review Constitution on terms of Political Office. In a year when many countries on the continent and in West Africa are changing their constitutions to allow for incumbent presidents to run yet again, the Beninese National Assembly has approved a major constitutional reform to discuss the precision on the two terms of office of the President of the Republic among other issues. Parliamentarians across W/African countries bemoan Nigeria Border Closure West African Lawmakers delegated to the ECOWAS Parliament has expressed worrisome concern over the land borders closure between the Republic of Benin and Niger respectively.
