NGO donates 50desks to two FCT Primary Schools

As part of activities to commemorate the 2019 World Children day, the convener and members of Zoe Flower The Foundation has donated 50 desks (25 apiece) to the primary school pupils of LEA Primary School Durumi and LEA Primary School, Games villages, both in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

The World Children’s Day which was first established in 1954 as Universal Children’s Day, celebrated on 20th November each year is targeted towards promoting international togetherness, awareness among children worldwide, and improving children’s warfare.

The convener and founder of the ZFTF, Mrs. Uchenna Duru in her remark stated that the activities is set aside for the end of year edition of her foundation ‘Adopt A School Project’ and also to celebrate children, with the Theme “For every child, every right’ by the United Nations Children’s Fund UNICEF.

Emphasizing the goal of the foundation, she said that Zoe’s Flower The Foundation is a social impact organization that is dedicated to improving the quality and standard of lives by providing basic social opportunities and resources for children and adults (gender notwithstanding) within the African continent.

“Since inception, we have made it our sole duty to work towards promoting the rights of children. We have remained at the forefront of creating and fostering safe spaces for adults and the young (youth and children) to stand out, shine bright, and realize their full potential.

“Our story is that of selflessness, passion, dedication, and commitment to the positive ideals and cause of changing the narrative, stereotype, and paving the way for the underprivileged in Africa to be all they were created to be,” Uchenna said.
Continuing on the mission of the foundation, she added “We strive to be a catalyst for hope by mobilizing funds, human resources and materials to help underprivileged persons or group(s) in our world to step in the march towards effective change, self-reliance thereby raising economic productivity of the continent and nation and humanity in general in order to reduce poverty.
“At Zoe’s Flower The Foundation, we are out to advocate and promote a level playing field where every underprivileged man and woman (children and adult) in Africa can rise to any height of their dreams.
“Through our strategically designed empowerment programmes, mentoring and coaching initiatives, advocacy interventions, tools, and resource supports, we are helping them find their pathways to becoming transformational leaders and change-makers”.

Responding to this laudable gesture from the Foundation, the Headmistress of the LEA Primary school, Hajia Hadiza S. Musa said “If all organizations in Nigeria have come up with things like this, the public schools in Nigeria would have been better than this, because no matter how little, if Ngo A and NGO B have contributed their quota and donate things to schools, Public schools would be able to compete with other schools.

“The government is trying but they cannot do all, there is a need for a joint effort to make Nigeria educational system better and enhanced”, Hadiza said.

Also present at the occasion was Hon. Bosun Oladele, former Member of the House of Representative of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, he said “What ZFTF have done today is a gesture in the right direction. Globally, the government can never do everything alone by itself, and that’s why even in the developed world you see people, foundation donating items to schools for research purpose in form of grant and donations, it is for the advancement of education.

“I believe sincerely that there is nothing that we give to the education of our children, of our pupils up to the university level that is too much.

“As we see, Nigeria is trying to revamp its educational sector, all hands must be on deck to ensure that the goal is meant”. Oladele stated.
