Court Strikes Out Busola Dakolo’s Rape Suit, Fines Her N1m

A new twist seemed to have crept into Dakolo-Fatoyinbo fiasco as a court of competent jurisdiction has ruled on the matter. A High Court in Abuja, today the 14th of November threw out the case filed by Mrs. Dakolo, wife of singer, Timi Dakolo against the Senior Pastor of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo.
Fatoyinbo had filed an objection and affidavit at the court stating that the allegations against him were false and concocted to embarrass, scandalise and ridicule him. He further stated that from the start of the controversy, Mrs. Dakolo sought and gained the attention of the media and the press and also brought the civil action when the Police’s investigation was ongoing.
Delivering her ruling, Justice A. Musa said that “the matter amounted to injustice, abuse of judicial process ad the case was empty and purely sentimental, and that the case was aimed more at cruelty than obtaining justice”.
She also awarded a fine of 1 million naira against Mrs. Dakolo , adding that the fee should be 10 times more because she wasted the court’s time.
Rant HQ Blog recalls that Mrs. Bukola had filed a suit against Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo whence she claimed among other things that the flamboyant pastor forcefully had carnal knowledge of her in Ilorin, Kwara State, 20 years back.
Pastor Fatoyinbo subsequently denied the allegations, resigned from the pulpit amid wave of protests against him by sections of the populace. He later returned to the pulpit months later.
