I am APC Leader in Edo, Oshiomhole remains suspended- Obaseki  Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has insisted that suspension of the party’s national chairman Adams Oshiomhole from the state chapter of the party remains and it is in the best interest. Obaseki disclosed this on Friday during a caucus meeting involving leaders of the APC in Edo North Senatorial District. Why we didn't release El-Zakzaky- AGF The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami (SAN), said on Friday that the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria,  Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, and his wife, Zeenat, were not released because they were being prosecuted by a state government. He said this in a statement by his spokesman, Dr. Umar Gwandu, who quoted him as speaking to the BBC Hausa and the Hausa Service of the Voice of America. FG order release of  Dasuki, Sowore The Nigerian Government has ordered the release of former National Security Adviser (NSA), Colonel Sambo Dasuki (rtd), and the convener of #RevolutionNow protests, Mr Omoyele Sowore. The Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami, announced this in a statement on Tuesday. Malami said the decision to release them was in compliance with the bail granted the two by the court. Just In: Gunmen attack Goodluck Jonathan hometown, kill one soldier Unknown gunmen stormed the hometown of former President, Goodluck Jonathan in Bayelsa State early Tuesday morning in a bid to steal a gunboat belonging to the military stationed at the creek. Sources in Otuoke, Bayelsa State told media that the gunmen, who struck at about 3am, killed one soldier, injured one while another one was taken away to unknown destination. Consequently, all roads in Otuoke/Otuaba is currently blocked by military personnel, with movement of residents restricted.
JAMB announces date for 2020 UTME The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has said that it will conduct the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination between March 14 and April 4, 2020.  Before then, it added, the candidates would sit for an optional mock examination on February 18. Speaking during a stakeholders’ meeting held on Monday in Abuja, the JAMB Registrar, Prof Is-haq Oloyede, said the registration for the UTME and Direct Entry would start simultaneously on January 13 and end on February 17, 2020. Oloyede added that the names used by candidates for the National Identity Number registration would be strictly used for the UTME, adding that those with biometric failure issues nationwide should report to the JAMB Headquarters, Abuja, to be attended to. BREAKING: Gunmen kidnap Ondo monarch’s wife, daughters, seek N 100m ransom vanguard G unmen have abducted the wife, children and driver of the traditional ruler of Odigbo town, Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, Oba Rufus Akinrinmade. It was gathered that the victims were kidnapped on Ikare-Owo Expressway in Oba Akoko, Akoko South West Local Government Area of the state. According to Punch Online, the traditional ruler, who confirmed the incident said the abductors had contacted the family and had demanded a sum of N100m as ransom.
